Wonderful set of photos here by Jen from the Munster date I did with Chakai House early in July. The gig took place inside part of an incredible building on the “B” side of the harbour there. The “A” side has already been redeveloped in to a Salford Quays style thing but for the minute the opposing side remains open to all kinds of possibilities.

Huddersfield Bicycle Orchestras!
Been working the last couple of weeks on a really exciting project for the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival to coincide with the Tour De France’s Grand Depart from Yorkshire in July.
You can see various stages of production on one of our newly developed instruments for the commission, the Frame Harp.
There will be two public workshops on the 20th and 21st June in Huddersfield. Find out more here.
Fat Out Festival this weekend in Salford
Really excited about a couple of plays on the Sunday of this great looking festival. I’ll be jamming for an hour form 8pm with others as part of the Gizeh Records epic continuous 50 human 5 hour session on the floor and then at 11pm I’ll be performing on the Tombed Visions stage in trio with Andrew Cheetham and Colin Webster in a new combination we are really excited about.
Spitting Feathers Review
Nice review in French here of Spitting Feather’s CDr with Olie Brice and Philip Marks. Some plans afoot to do some stuff with this group later in the year.

Guitar Lessons
I am currently have space available for new students!
I am a guitarist based in Stretford offering guitar lessons from my home studio or my workspace near Gorton train stattion.
I have played for 18 years and taught guitar for the last 5 years. I have a PGDE in post 16 education and have taught both children and adults guitar. My background is in playing in DIY and experimental rock bands and some of these projects were featured on Radio 1, Radio 6 Music, BBC1 and Resonance FM. My current live work focuses on free improvisation and I’ve been lucky enough to play concerts of this music in London, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, New York and Moscow amongst others. I also work on a sound art project developing sound to light electronics, walks, installations & workshops called Noise Orchestra.
Depending what you are interested in learning my guitar teaching method is driven by a mixture of developing your technical skills framed with teaching you songs in the style of the music you are interested in learning. Most of my students learn technical skills and rock, pop and indie type song material; some work with me on improvising skills drawing on my performance knowledge in that field.
First lesson/assessment/meet up of 30 minutes is £10. This is so we can get to know each other a bit, see if we get along as student and teacher and discuss the kind of things you are interested in learning and I can start to form an idea of how to get you where you want to be. After this lessons are £25 per hour or £15 per half an hour. Lessons are cancellelable up until 24 hours in advance.
